As their new album hits stores today, electronic rock group the DAVID CROWDER*BAND are storming the internet and making their mark early on the charts.

In USA Today’s Fall music preview, CHURCH MUSIC--out today (September 22) via sixstepsrecords/Sparrow Records--was hailed as “…progressive electronic rock influenced by Radiohead, Linkin Park, Sigur Ros and others” (9/18/09). The buzz is building as CHURCH MUSIC hits the Top 5 on the iTunes Album chart and Top 10 on the Amazon MP3 Album chart today. The band is trending as a Top 10 topic on Twitter today as well.

The 17 compelling tracks on CHURCH MUSIC--the follow-up to 2007’s Remedy--may not be what you expect sonically when you think of one of Christian music’s leading bands. The album even includes a unique cover of hard rock act Flyleaf’s hit “All Around Me,” and features Flyleaf lead singer Lacey Mosely and the Dupree sisters from Eisley singing background vocals on various tracks.

The six-piece, known for their mix of ambient and infectious electro-rock, kicked off their nationwide tour with a sold-out show last night in their hometown of Waco, TX. On Thursday, September 24 they’ll hit the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles for a sold-out show before jumping back on the road in October for intimate shows across the U.S. On November 13, they’ll headline Terminal 5 in New York City.

Watch the eye-catching video the band made while signing thousands of pre-ordered vinyl records, featuring album track “Oh Happiness”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBczEYmON5s.

About DAVID CROWDER*BAND:
The Texas-based six-piece may very well be the biggest band you’ve never heard of. DAVID CROWDER*BAND has previously released four studio albums, selling over one million copies combined. During their last major tour in support of 2007’s Remedy, the band sold out nineteen large clubs across the country including notable venues like New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom, The Wiltern in Los Angeles and The Fillmore in San Francisco and toured with Mute Math, Third Day and Mercy Me. They recently released their ambient and ethereal fifth studio album CHURCH MUSIC (sixstepsrecords/Sparrow Records). The album features seventeen compelling, inimitably progressive electronic rock tracks and runs an impressive 73 minutes long. “It’s our stimulus package,” jokes frontman DAVID CROWDER. “We’re doing our part.” With songs influenced by artists that range from Radiohead to Linkin Park, Portishead to Sigur Rós, CHURCH MUSIC may not be what you expect sonically when you think of one of Christian music’s leading bands. www.davidcrowderband.com; www.myspace.com/davidcrowderband
